1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, signing in (including with Google), or using the Agora Voting App, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Agora provides AGORApp as a civic participation platform. Citizens can vote on public figures, respond to polls and consultations, and manage a personal profile. Politicians can register for verification, submit polls and consultations for review, and access dashboard and Premium analytics after approval and payment where applicable.
The platform provides tools for civic engagement and information. It does not guarantee official government recognition, electoral outcomes, or binding public decisions.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to register as a citizen user.
- You must provide accurate information and keep your account details up to date.
- Politician registration is subject to additional review and verification by the Agora team.
- You must not use the service where prohibited by applicable law.
4. Account registration
You may register with email and password or, where available, Google Sign-In. Email registration requires verification of your email address before you can sign in. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.
5. Google Sign-In
If you use Google Sign-In, you also agree to Google's terms and privacy policy for your Google account. We receive limited profile information from Google to authenticate you, as described in our Privacy Policy. Linking Google to an existing email account is subject to our account-linking rules.
6. Civic voting, polls, and consultations
- Votes and responses reflect user opinions within the app and are subject to platform rules and moderation.
- Poll and consultation content may be submitted by politicians and approved by administrators before publication.
- You must vote and respond honestly and in good faith, without automated manipulation or coordinated abuse.
- We may apply rate limits, fraud detection, and other safeguards to protect integrity.
7. Politician registration and verification
Politicians must complete registration, pay any required participation fee, and pass Agora's verification review. Verification confirms eligibility to appear as a verified public figure within the platform; it is not a government credential.
We aim to complete standard verification reviews within 5 working days, but timelines may vary depending on volume, completeness of your application, and requests for additional information.
8. Payments and subscriptions
Participation fees and Premium subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Prices, currencies, and renewal terms are shown at checkout. Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly stated at purchase. Failed or disputed payments may limit access to politician features until resolved.
9. Premium analytics
Premium provides aggregated analytics to verified politicians. Analytics are subject to privacy thresholds (including k-anonymity) and do not expose individual voter identities. Premium does not grant access to raw personal data of citizens.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Create fake accounts, impersonate others, or misrepresent your identity
- Manipulate votes, rankings, or analytics through bots or coordinated abuse
- Harass, threaten, or post unlawful, defamatory, or hateful content
- Spam, scrape, or attempt to reverse engineer the service
- Circumvent security, verification, or payment requirements
- Use the service for commercial solicitation unrelated to its civic purpose
11. Content you submit
You retain ownership of content you submit, but grant us a licence to host, display, and process it as needed to operate the service (including moderation and publication of approved polls/consultations). You confirm you have the right to submit such content and that it does not infringe third-party rights.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, pose security risks, or harm other users or the integrity of the platform. You may delete your account through in-app tools or by contacting support. Provisions that by nature should survive termination (including liability limits) will continue to apply.
13. Disclaimer
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Agora does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Civic participation results within the app do not constitute official government action, legal advice, or professional political endorsement.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Agora and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or zero if you are a free citizen user, except where liability cannot be limited by applicable law.
15. Changes to the service and terms
We may modify features, pricing, or these terms. Material changes will be communicated through the app, email, or this page. Continued use after the effective date of updated terms constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of the service. Specific jurisdiction and dispute resolution details should be confirmed with your legal adviser when the formal legal entity is finalised.
